Temple Beth David

SISTERHOOD

Temple Beth David Sisterhood has been going strong for over 75 years.  We are often called the “heart” of the temple because of the caring support that we continually provide.  You will find us wherever there is a need to be met.

We are affiliated with the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) and a portion of our membership dues goes to support the many causes they promote including  safeguarding women’s reproductive health, sending children to summer camp and providing scholarships for student rabbis and cantors.

We are very proud of all the things we accomplish each year. We have many engaging activities including hamantaschen baking for Purim, preparing our famous latke mix for Hanukkah and organizing the temple wide Passover Seder.

Store

Temple Beth David Sisterhood runs a beautiful Gift Shop located in the temple lobby.  It contains a wide variety of contemporary Judaica merchandise including jewelry, tallits, shabbat candles and much more.  It provides a place for congregants and community members to purchase gifts or other necessary items for celebrating the Jewish holidays.

Each year the Sisterhood organizes a wonderful Hanukkah Holiday Boutique which showcases local artisans and crafters and gives community members the opportunity to find special one of a kind items to celebrate the holiday season.

Our latest activity is our monthly “Stitch and Kvetch” group. A number of knitters, embroiderers, crocheters and cross-stitchers gather together to work on their projects, connect with each other and even complain a little (kvetch) if one feels the need.
